In Greek Mythology<\/a>, Eurynome was a Titan Goddess and the third wife of Zeus. She was known as the goddess of meadows and pasturelands. She had the three Charities with Zeus, who are known as the goddesses of grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was the daughter of the Titans Oceanus<\/a> and Tethys<\/a>, which made her an Oceanid. She was the elder Oceanides<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eurynome was often depicted as a beautiful mermaid. According to some accounts, she was one of the elder ocean nymphs. Earlier tales of Eurynome involve Hephaestus<\/a>. When the blacksmith of the gods was cast from Mount Olympus by Hera<\/a>, Eurynome and Thetis<\/a> caught him. She nursed him back to health and raised him as her own child, eventually creating a solid connection with the Olympians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She shares the name of another goddess, Eurynome, who was an early Queen of the Titans<\/a>. She was married to Ophion, who both fought against Cronus<\/a> and Rhea. They eventually lost the throne to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
